Intro to the UPowr Platform
The UPowr platform is designed to help you facilitate a Customer’s journey through a Sales or Service project for a renewable energy system.
User groups
On the Platform, users can be:
- Principal users - employees of your organisation.
- Prime users - the employees or representatives of a company that you contract directly to deliver a service relating to the design, supply, and installation of solar and battery systems. All Prime users must be allocated to a single Prime contractor.
These groups are further divided into roles with different permissions that are responsible for different types of Tasks.
Platform entities
The Platform uses these entities.
Hardware product
An item in your inventory with an SKU, price, and supplier.
Example: A 390W solar panel.
Customer
The person wanting to buy your hardware and services, and related information such as their request type, contact details, and installation address.
Example: A homeowner who wants to purchase a solar system and have it installed.
Workflow
The steps taken to facilitate a Customer request or business process. These can be calculations, event triggers, or user Tasks.
Example: The System design and Quote Workflow that creates a Quote for a Customer’s solar system.
Site
Information about the Customer's property, including their address, National Meter Identifier (NMI), electricity consumption data, and installed assets.
Example: A Site the Customer has requested a Quote for a solar and battery system.
Project
A container for the work done to fulfil the Customer's request. There are two Project types - Sales and Service.
Example: A Sales Project to install a solar and battery system.
Quote
Information about the system you’ve designed for the Customer, including the Site-specific design, Bill of materials, system cost, and forecasted performance.
Example: A Quote for the installation of a system with 16 390W panels and a battery.
Job
Work done by an Installer at the Site. By default, the Platform comes with four Job types - Site inspection and Installation (used in Sales projects), and Audit and Asset replacement (used in Service projects).
Example: A Site inspection job that’s done before a solar and battery system is installed.
Asset
A fundamental hardware component of a renewable energy system, such as a solar panel, inverter, or battery. Includes related information such as their manufacturer, model, and serial number. Also, installation and service information, and whether they're part of a VPP.
Example: The solar panels and batteries that were installed on the Customer's site.
Platform software modules
The UPowr platform consists of these software modules.
Console
Console is an admin tool where you can manage Customers, Products, and Platform settings.
See Intro to Console
Tasklist
Tasklist is an app where you can view, claim, and complete Tasks to move a Customer along their journey.
Atlas
Atlas is our custom-built solar design tool that you can use to design a system, review shading, create panel layouts, and more.
CRM integration
You can integrate the Platform with your CRM to track to track and manage Customer engagement and progress along the sales journey.
Enterprise API
Our Enterprise API is designed to support you in scaling your clean-energy business faster and at a fraction of the cost and risk. It allows you to build applications and integrations with our Platform to:
- spin up an end-to-end quoting, design, and customer experience platform;
- automate workflows to streamline the Customer journey and back-end process;
- connect to your CRM system.
Environments
Our software is deployed to two environments, User acceptance testing (UAT) and Production.
UAT environment
This environment doesn’t contain Customer data. It’s a testing environment where we first deploy new features. Once these features are approved, we deploy them to the Production environment.
Production environment
This environment contains Customer data, and we only deploy new features here once they’ve passed UAT.
