Pylon integration

This integration connects your Pylon account with the UPowr platform to give you the best of both worlds - powerful system designs in Pylon and streamlined operations in UPowr. Using it, you can:

  • Start a Pylon Project directly from a UPowr Project and keep them both synced.
  • Effortlessly move from sales and quoting in Pylon, to operations and job management in UPowr, without the need for double data entry.
  • Store all your files in one system - you can access Pylon proposals, SLDs, site maps, and BOMs right inside your UPowr Projects and Jobs.

Setting up the integration​

When setting up the integration, you can control how each Prime contractor connects to Pylon. You can:

  • Connect each Prime to a unique Pylon account, or
  • Use one Pylon account to connect multiple Primes

To connect your Pylon account, raise a request at UPowr platform support.

Using the integration​

Start Pylon Project​

To start a Pylon project from UPowr:

  1. In the Onboard Customer Site task, select Start Sales Project (using Pylon for Design). A new Project record will be created.
  2. In the Project record, select Start Pylon Project.

In Pylon, you can then select Confirm location.

This will automatically create a linked Project in Pylon.

Sync Pylon Project​

After you update a Pylon solar design, you can sync it with UPowr. Each Pylon solar design will be created as a separate UPowr Quote, and each time you sync a Pylon project, all UPowr Quotes will be updated.

To sync a Pylon Project:

  1. Open a Project or Quote record in UPowr that uses Pylon for its design.
  2. Select Sync from Pylon.

UPowr will pull in the latest:

  • System hardware and quote details.
  • Panel layout and design.
  • Supporting files, including the Site map and SLD.

To ensure the Pylon SLD syncs properly to UPowr, make sure the SLD is unlocked in Pylon before selecting Sync from Pylon.

Signed proposal status​

When a Customer signs their Pylon Proposal:

  1. UPowr will automatically mark the corresponding UPowr Quote as signed.
  2. The signed PDF proposal will be stored in the UPowr Project record under Files.

This keeps your records aligned across both systems. From here, you can trigger the next step in UPowr, such as a Site inspection or Installation Job.

Sync before starting a Job

Make sure to sync the signed Pylon Proposal before starting a Site inspection or Installation Job. This way, Installers will have the latest version of the Quote and supporting documents.

Syncing a Pylon Project with an active UPowr Job​

If you sync the Pylon Project after a Job has already been created in UPowr (e.g. a Site inspection or Installation):

  1. A new Quote will be created in UPowr to reflect the latest version from Pylon. This Quote will also have an updated reference number.
  2. The previous Quote will be voided.
  3. The active Job will be automatically updated with the new Quote details.

In addition, all design and documentation changes will flow automatically through to the Installer App, so Installers always see the latest information.
