Manage energy profiles
An Energy profile is the meter data for a calendar year for a Customer’s site. It includes:
- Electricity consumption
- Solar generation
- Grid imports
- Grid exports
Energy profiles are stored in kWh, and recorded at time intervals ranging from five to 60 minutes. They're a key input into the Quote forecast modelling. In particular, they're used:
- to determine the baseline consumption and generation profile for a Customer’s site.
- as an input into calculating the forecasted profile after a Customer has a new asset installed.
You can create, view, edit, and delete Energy profiles using the Energy profile manager app. Once you've created an Energy profile, you can also set it as the default for a Customer class using the Class and flag manager.
Create a new Energy profile
To create a new Energy profile:
- Open Console.
- Open the Energy profile manager, then click Create.
- Enter the required information.
- Title - Will be used by Operators to find the profile.
- Tags - For categorising and quickly finding the profile.
- Energy profile - The interval data to use for the profile. We've provided a downloadable template for you to base this on. Your file must use the same format, contain 12 months of data, and have at least one of the column fields.
- Time interval - For determining how many rows of data are required for 12 months of data. Choose from five to 60-minute intervals.
- Dataset timezone - The timezone for the profile.
- Dataset year - For determining how many rows of data are required for 12 months of data.
- Click Create.
Edit an Energy profile
If you edit the Time interval, Dataset timezone, or Dataset year, you may need to upload a new Energy profile file that matches your changes as the number of data rows may change.
To edit an existing Energy profile:
- Open Console, then the Energy profile manager.
- In the left panel, click the Energy profile.
- In the right panel, click Actions, then Edit.
- Update the required information.
- Click Save.
Delete an Energy profile
When you delete an Energy profile, it's not removed from the Platform. Forecasts that currently use the profile will continue to work correctly, but Operators won’t be able to select it when creating a new Quote.
To delete an existing Energy profile:
- Open Console, then the Energy profile manager.
- In the left panel, click the Energy profile.
- In the right panel, click Actions, then Delete.
- Click Ok.
