Manage installer forms templates

You can use the Templates Manager app to update installer forms that are provided to Installers in the Installer app. The relevant installer form is provided based on the class and job type and is managed through flags in the Class Manager app.

APP PERMISSIONS

Only UPowr technical support roles have access to the Templates Manager app.

Installer Form Task ID

When creating an installer form template, you must assign a task ID. This determines whether the form is sent to the Installer app based on the job type. The available task IDs are:

Add an installer form template

To add a new document template:

  1. Go to Templates Manager app* and select Installer Forms tab.
  2. Click Add installer form.
  3. Enter unique Key. This will be used to identify the form in the Class manager.
  4. Select Task ID.
  5. Enter unique Task display name.
  6. Insert form contents in yaml.
  7. Test the installer form template, adjusting test metadata as required.
  8. When ready, select Add.

Manage an existing installer form template

To update an existing document template, you can upload a docx file:

  1. Go to Templates Manager app and select Installer Forms tab.
  2. Select Edit icon on the relevant installer form.
  3. Update the form contents in yaml.
  4. Test the installer form template, adjusting test metadata as required.
  5. When ready, select Update.
Template in use

Any changes to a template that is currently in use by a class flag will be reflected in workflows triggered after the update.

Set a document template flag

To utilise a document template in a class, you must set it on the relevant class flag.

  1. Go to the Class manager app.
  2. Select the class the installer form should be applied to.
  3. Find the relevant installer form template flag.
  4. Select Yes to enable flag.
  5. Select the Key as the flag setting.
  6. Select Apply.
