Project stages and states

Sales and Service projects have Stages and States that reflects their progress.

Sales project

Stage and StateMeaning
Onboarding/OnboardingIf a new Sales project is created and there isn't yet a Site.
Onboarding/OnboardedIf a new Sales project and Site are created and there isn't yet an active design workflow.
Quoting/DesignIf there is no active Sales project for the Site, it begins when the design of an initial Quote is triggered.
Quoting/ReviewingAt least one Quote has been drafted and is ready for review. The Customer hasn't received any Quotes yet.
Considering/ConsideringAt least one Quote has been published for the Customer to review. The Customer hasn't decided to proceed with any Quote yet (i.e. the Terms & Conditions haven't been accepted).
Buying/BuyingThe Customer has decided to proceed with a Quote and is in the checkout journey. The Customer hasn't provided the required explicit commitment action, e.g. a deposit. If a Site inspection is required, then the state will be Awaiting Site Inspection, while the Site inspection Job is active.
Installing/InstallingThe Customer has completed an explicit commitment action, and the Sales project has an active Installation Job.
Closed/CompletedThe Sales project has successfully delivered the requested product to the Customer.
Closed/FailedThe Site failed to pass Design or Site inspection review and cannot proceed to Installation.
Closed/LostThe Customer has chosen not to explicitly commit to the Sales project.
Closed/CancelledThe Customer completed an explicit commitment action and decided not to proceed with the Installation.
Closed/ClosedA newer Sales project has been created for the same Customer and Site.

Service project

Stage and stateMeaning
Requesting/RequestingThe Service Project is created and the request for post-installation service is raised. Initial information is being logged, but no action has been taken yet.
Servicing/InvestigatingThe Service Project is under investigation. This could include internal or external inquiries (e.g. contacting the manufacturer). A Job has not been raised yet.
Servicing/ServicingAt least one Job related to the Service Project is actively being performed.
Servicing/ReviewingAll jobs associated with the Service Project have been completed. Operators are reviewing the outcomes to determine if the request has been fully resolved.
Closed/CompletedThe request has been resolved, and the Service Project is closed.
Closed/Cannot resolveThe Service Project has been closed without resolution, either because it cannot be resolved or further action is deferred outside the workflow.
Closed/CancelledThe Service Project is cancelled, typically due to a determination that the issue does not require further action.
