Platform version 2.32

· One min read

Improved

We’ve extended the system configurations supported by our automated Single Line Diagram (SLD) generator. It now handles a broader range of systems, and SLDs can be generated for:

  • DC-coupled solar and battery systems using a Tesla battery and gateway
  • AC-coupled battery systems with a representative solar setup
  • Tesla battery-only systems, assuming an existing inverter under 5 kW

These updates provide more coverage for edge cases and streamline your compliance documentation process.

Fixed

  • In records, Customer communications (SMS and call recordings) are now shown in chronological order.
  • The Site's state was missing from Job CSV exports. This has now been restored.

New

In a few of our recent release notes, we hinted at some big upcoming changes to the Platform. Well, today's the day that they finally land.

Console (2025 edition)

First up is an overhaul of Console, and how Customer, Site, Project, Quote, and Job records are presented. Previously, records behaved like individual documents, and when you moved between them you had to change pages. For this 2025 edition of Console, we've created a new way to view records that brings them all into one unified hub.

Now, when looking at a Customer, you'll see:

  • Information about the Customer, displayed across the top of the page for quick reference.
  • A navigation pane, where you can see the status of their active Projects, Quotes, and Jobs at a glance, and open records to view them.
  • A notes pane that you can look at alongside records to gather more context.

In addition, to streamline how Tasks are done, you can now complete them within Console. From a Customer's record, you can see outstanding Tasks, open them along with any relevant records, and complete them, all on the same screen.

These big changes are also accompanied by a huge number of smaller ones, such as bulk actions (you can now void multiple Quotes at once), an All files area where you can see every file related to a Customer, and much more.

Pylon integration

This release also includes our first integration, one for the design tool, Pylon.

This integration enables you to use Pylon for system design and quoting, while managing operations, Jobs, and compliance in UPowr. With it installed, you can connect your Pylon account to UPowr to:

  • Start Pylon Projects directly from UPowr, creating linked projects.
  • Bring Pylon solar designs into the UPowr platform as Quotes.
  • Sync Pylon with UPowr to update all linked Quotes and supporting files, including site maps, and SLDs.

In addition

  • When a Customer signs a Pylon proposal, UPowr will mark the associated Quote as signed, and store the signed Proposal PDF in the Project record.
  • Syncing during an active Job will update the Installer app, so Installers always have the latest information.

For more, see Pylon integration

Improved

  • In Console home, the search box now applies across all views. This means that you can now search for a single term (like a Customer's name) and switch between the Project, Customer, and Job views to see information related to it.

  • System manual
  • Regulatory documents
  • Permission to Connect

New

To enable you to send clearer, more customised comms to your Customers, we're introducing new SMS notifications and configuration options.

New SMS notifications:

  • Job Reminder - Sent 24 hours before the scheduled Job date.
  • Job Submitted - Sent once the Installer has submitted all required Tasks.
  • Job Cancelled - Sent after Reassign Installer, Cancel Job, or Close Project actions are taken in Console. This SMS is distinct from the Job Closed SMS.
  • Commissioned SMS (only for Installation and Asset Replacement jobs) - Sent after Review artefacts, Update Asset serial numbers, and Upload regulatory document Tasks are completed. In an upcoming release, we'll also be adding in the ability to include a link to the Customer's welcome pack in this SMS.

New configuration options:

  • Set company profile flag - Add your company name, support phone number, and support email address, so these details can be used across all your SMS comms to quickly customise them.
  • Skip SMS comms flag - Skip individual or all transactional SMS comms, including those for Jobs managed through our Installer app.

Improved

  • We updated the Onboard Customer Site task to make what happens post task clearer.

New

We’ve added support for three new Government battery rebate initiatives, effective from July 1, 2025:

To learn more, see Government support options.

We've also introduced three new Flags to streamline onboarding and Job distribution:

  • Job assignment defaults: Skip 'Assign Job to Installer and App' Tasks (such as Assign Site Inspection to Installer and App), by setting a default Installer company and specifying if the App should be used.
  • Set default Customer class: Choose the default Customer class that's automatically applied when a new Customer is created. This should be configured as a System Default to apply during onboarding.
  • Set default Project class: Choose the default Project class that's automatically applied when a new Project is created. This should also be configured as a System Default to apply during onboarding.

Improved

  • The System Manual template for Asset Replacement Jobs now displays both decommissioned Assets and the new Assets installed at the Site.

Fixed

  • In Pricing Manager, you can now create SKUs under the fee_service subcategory.
  • In the CX module, you can now set criteria that determine whether the Environmental Impact block is shown to Customers.

Improved

We’ve improved how Customer mobile numbers are handled to ensure only verified numbers are used for communications via the Installer app. These changes help improve compliance with Customer contact practices.

  • In "Confirm Job" tasks (such as Confirm Site Inspection), Operators will now see a warning if the Customer’s mobile number is not verified. If the Operator proceeds without verifying the number, the Installer app will be blocked from initiating Customer communications (e.g. SMS notifications or calls).
  • The is_verified field is now exposed in the v1 Project API, allowing mobile verification status to be passed in when leads are created via the API.

Improved

  • When you log into the Platform, clicking 'Console' will take you directly to Console home.
  • Principal Admins and Principal Operations can now change a Customer's Default Prime Contractor from their Customer record, as long as the Customer doesn't have any running workflows.

Fixed

  • In the Installer app, some Tasks were appearing without a due date. This has been fixed.
tip

If you have a frozen Project, Quote, or Job with an incorrect status, get in touch with your Customer Support contact. They can override its status and change it to Closed so it doesn't impact your data integrity and reporting.

New

We've introduced two new Flags to give you more control over Job workflows:

  • Scheduling lead time: To ensure sufficient preparation time for Jobs, you can define the required lead time (in days) before a Job can be scheduled in the Installer app. Importantly, this lead time doesn't apply when rescheduling Jobs.
  • Skip "Follow-up Installer" tasks: If reminders to follow up with Installers aren't required for your process, you can use this Flag to disable follow-up tasks. When it's on, tasks will not appear when:
    • An Installer hasn't accepted the Job within two days of assignment.
    • An Installer hasn't submitted Job forms within two days after the scheduled Job date.

Improved

  • You can now query workflow tasks - both historical and open - via our GraphQL Query Explorer. This makes it easier to extract task-related insights across all workflows.
    • Please note, workflow tasks are continuously optimised over time, so queries should be built with the flexibility to account for changes (e.g. task name updates).
    • To view available fileds and structure your query, see Tasks in GraphQL.
  • We’ve changed how the active Job is determined within a Project. The active Job is now defined as the most recently updated Job that is not closed. Previously, the logic allowed a closed Job to be marked as active, which could lead to unexpected behaviour, especially in Service projects. This change ensures more accurate tracking of stages and states across both Sales and Service Projects.
  • We've updated Product sets to include EV chargers. Product sets allow you to define the set of Products available to a Class. Now, in addition to Panels, Inverters, and Batteries, you can also select EV chargers when creating one. For more, see Manage product sets.
