Manage assets in your environment
To manage Assets, you can use your Environment's Asset catalogue. This app allows you to create and manage a centralised list of Assets for use across your environment, and link Assets to a Hardware SKU. By doing this, for example, when adding an Asset to a Site, Operators can select from any Hardware component in your Asset catalogue, streamlining the process.
Global asset catalogue
In addition to your Environment's Asset catalogue, there is a Global asset catalogue. UPowr maintains the Global asset catalogue, and it includes a list of CEC-approved solar panels, batteries, and inverters.
To speed up the process of populating your Asset catalogue, you can copy across Hardware models from the Global asset catalogue. Populating your Asset catalogue this way has an additional benefit - because the entries remain linked, when we update or add information to the Global asset catalogue, our changes will flow through to your Environment's Asset catalogue too.
If you are unable to find an Asset in the Global asset catalogue or would like to suggest an Asset, you can raise a request at UPowr platform support.
Populate your Asset catalogue
There are two ways to populate your Asset catalogue:

- Create a new entry in your Asset catalogue

- Click Save.
The item will appear in your Local catalogue, and will be marked as Linked
.
Create a new entry in your Asset catalogue
If the item you want to add to your Local catalogue isn't in the Global catalogue, you can add a custom entry.
To do this:
- Open Console.
- Open the Asset catalog and click Add new model.
- Enter the required information, and click Save.
Link an Asset to a Hardware SKU
After adding an Asset model to your Asset catalogue, you can link it to a Hardware SKU to help automate the process of adding Assets to Sites. Once these items are linked, when a Hardware SKU is quoted to a customer and then installed on a Site, it automatically becomes an Asset on the Site that's saved to the Site record.
To link an Asset to a hardware SKU:
- Open Console.
- Open the Pricing Management, and select relevant Asset.
- Select Catalogue link tab
- Select Add Link.
- Locate relevant Asset and select Link.
Update or remove an Asset from your Asset catalogue
To do this:
- Open Console.
- Open the Asset catalog, and select Edit on relevant Asset.
- Update the Asset details, or toggle off Available to remove the Asset.
- Click Save.
