Pricing overview
You can control pricing by configuring:
- Stock keeping units (SKUs)
- Inputs
- Product sets
SKUs
SKUs are inventory items used to design systems and generate a Bill of materials. Each SKU is associated with a range of information that may be used:
- Internally - like the item’s price, Prime, and Supplier.
- Externally - like the product description and warranty period displayed to the Customer in the user experience.
Each one has a:
- SKU - The item’s unique code.
- Category - Can be service, hardware, or installation
- Sub-category - Hardware sub-categories, for example, include
solarpanel
,exportmeter
, andtiltlegs
. Or installation sub-categories, such astravel_charges
ormulti_story_install
. - State - The geographical states where this item can be sold. If the Customer’s Site is in a state where the item isn’t available, system designers will not be able to select them.
- Prime contractor - The organisation that is contracted for installing the item. You can have multiple Prime contractors per state and multiple Suppliers per Prime contractor.
- Supplier - The organisation that distributes the item. This can differ by state.
- Supplier SKU - The Supplier’s own SKU for the item.
- Unit price - The price of each item exclusive of GST. This can differ by state.
- Description - A product name that can be displayed to customers.
- Warranty period - The warranty period for the item.
- Product images - Images of the product that can be displayed to customers.
- Manuals - Product manuals for the item.
Miscellaneous SKUs
Miscellaneous SKUs are hardware or labour SKUs that are not assigned to an existing SKU sub-category. They're typically used for site-specific variations.
Inputs
Inputs are additional items that can be used to design systems and generate quotes. Some examples include Minimum installation cost, Installation cost per panel, and Government rebates. Inputs can be set for all customers or a specific Customer class.
Product sets
Product sets are pre-defined bundles of panels, inverters, and batteries. Product sets can be configured for a Customer class so that a Customer class (e.g. Solar Home Bundle) has a defined set of products. You can add a product set to restrict the products that can be used during system design.
