Quotes overview

A Quote specifies the system you’ve designed for a Customer. On the Platform, information about a Quote is consolidated in a Quote record.

You can create Quotes for Sales projects, but not for Service projects.

Quote record

On an Quote record you can see:

  • the status of the Quote.
  • the system that we’ve designed and information about its performance.
  • the unit price of all items on the Bill of materials and the total prices presented to customers.
  • files relating to the system design (e.g. Single line diagram and Site layout).
  • the Accepted date, which is the date the Customer provided explicit commitment on a Quote, changing its status to Accepted.

From this record you can:

  • Start the Installation workflow.

The Bill of Materials is GST exclusive, while all Customer costs are GST inclusive.

Bill of materials

A Bill of materials (BOM) is a list of the Hardware and installation items required to install a system. It is derived from a system design, and once it’s created it becomes part of a Customer’s quote.

For each item, it lists its:

  • SKU - The item’s unique code.
  • Category - Can be service, hardware, or installation
  • Sub-category - Hardware sub-categories, for example, include solarpanel, exportmeter, and tiltlegs. Or installation sub-categories, such as travel_charges or multi_story_install.
  • Description - A product name that can be displayed to customers.
  • Unit price - The price of each item exclusive of GST. This can differ by state.
  • Quantity (Qty): The number of each SKU included in the system.
  • Total: GST exclusive.
